We FINALLY have cabinets! I can’t tell you how long I’ve been waiting for this day! When we first moved into this house, I honestly thought it would only take a couple of months to renovate this kitchen. Boy was I wrong! So, lets walk down memory lane shall we! Here are the (before) pictures on what the room use to looked like.
I honestly didn’t think it would have taken us this long to renovate the kitchen. But I guess when you do it YOURSELF, It takes even longer. You do it when YOU have time. After work, after son’s games, after practice and when you feel motivated. Haha…Yea! It takes A LOT longer when you have all that going on in your life. And sometimes you just don’t have time at all.
Also, doing this kitchen renovation ourselves totally saved us a TON of money! Thanks to Jessica’s husband “George” for helping us. We couldn’t have done this without him.
As for the window…hubby and George had to reframe the opening for the window. It took them a full day to reframe it. So it wasn’t that bad. I’m just glad George knew what he was doing on this one because hubby had no clue. Haha…but he was a great helper though.
After all the electrical was done and the window was in, It was time for drywall! (Whoop Whoop) I was so happy to see drywall going up. Just knowing It was one step closer to being done! After all the mudding and sanding hubby and I did, it was time to finally paint! We ended up painting the walls “Bistro White” by Valspar! Absolutely love this color. If you are looking for a beautiful white paint color then Bistro White is your color. Thats what we have in the rest of the house.
The day has finally come! It was CABINET DAY!! I’ve been waiting for this day for a very long time. When they pulled up and started unloading…all I could think about was “hurry up and drop them off so I can start unboxing them” Haha…I was so impatient. Once they left, I started opening the boxes and putting them in there places. Once they were all in place, I moved the island into his spot, then took a could steps back and started to stare! I couldn’t believe I was actually standing in my dream kitchen. I was so full of emotions and couldn’t stop staring. It was an amazing feeling to know that we have worked so hard on this kitchen. It was such a great accomplishment.
